Controlling Adult Acne
Acne can occur in adulthood and cause you distress. It is caused by hormonal changes due to different reasons. Working is an atmosphere which has too much dust and dirt can make the skin pores block. This can lead to pimples which can cause you embarrassment. Your skin reflects the health of your body and this skin condition can be a sign of other underlying health problems. You have to be patient because treating acne can take time.
There are ways you can use to control acne. Here are some of the steps to help you prevent pimples from getting worse on your face.
- Wash your face twice a day with a good cleanser. A good one will not cause blackheads on your face. You have to wash your face in the morning and just before you go to bed. One teaspoon of sugar added to the water you are going to use to wash your face can be good as it acts as a light exfoliation. This helps to remove excess oils and prevent your pores from blocking. You should use warm water to rinse your face and pat it dry with a soft towel.
- Your affected skin requires proper moisturizing. Adult acne makes your skin dry unlike the teen pimples which increase the oil on your skin. Even dry skin gets clogged pores which are the main cause of pimples. You should use a light moisturizer to keep your skin in the right condition. You will have to keep reapplying the moisturizer on your skin because a light one does not stay for long on the skin.
- Try not to use too many facial products. This will give your skin a chance to breath. Products like powder and cream foundations should be avoided. They are likely to increase clogging on your affected skin. If you have to put on some make up, make sure that you wash it off as soon as you can. Never sleep with the makeup on your face.
- Ensure that your body stays clean. You can get pimples on other parts of your body like the chest, back and shoulders. This means that you can avoid clogged pores by cleaning your skin thoroughly. Adult acne is usually painful and you must take some steps to treat them. You can add some Epsom salts in your bathing water. These salts help to remove toxins from your skin. It also decreases inflammation caused by the pimples.
- Choose the clothes that you wear carefully. Avoid tight clothes and also non absorbent fabrics as they are not good for skin with pimples. When going out on a hot day, make sure that you wear loosely fitting cotton clothes. This will ensure that your skin can breathe and relax despite the hot weather.
- Imbalanced hormones are also a cause of adult acne. You can do some exercises to help boost you hormonal levels. You can also beat stress by doing exercises that will keep your skin looking beautiful.
